[Section 551.071, Texas Government Code - Consultation with Attorney:] For a private consultation with the Board's attorney with respect to pending or contemplated litigation or settlement offers, and/or on matters where the attorney's duty to the Board, under the Texas Disciplinary Rules of Professional Conduct of the State Bar of Texas clearly conflicts with the open government provisions of Chapter 551 of the Government Code, to wit:

4.A.1. Legal issues associated with other agenda items brought into Closed Session.

4.B. [Section 551.074, Texas Government Code - Personnel Matters:] To deliberate the, appointment, employment, evaluation, reassignment, duties, discipline or dismissal of a public officer or employee, to wit:

4.B.1. Appointments, employments, assignments and/or reassignments of persons mentioned in the Superintendent's Personnel Report - Agenda item VI (3).

5. Discussion/Action on matters taken up in Closed Session and/or matters listed in Section IV, whether or not items listed therein were taken into Closed Session; and matters listed under Sections VI and/or VII, if any, taken into Closed Session under Section IV. 6. Consent Agenda Items:

6.A. Approval of minutes for board meetings:  Regular Board Meeting on March 25, 2014.   

6.B. Approval of Budget Amendments for the period ending April 9, 2014.

6.C. Approval of promotions, transfers, new hires, resignations, retirements and reassignments for professional contract personnel where Board Action is required.  [Note: Board action on this item, if any, is limited to those personnel items that require Board action; otherwise, the item is for information only, whether or not the Board approves a motion to approve this item; and, in any event, the Board does not approve transfers, resignations previously approved by the Superintendent, retirements and reassignments.]

6.D. Approval to proclaim May 7, 2014, as National School Nurse Day in the Edgewood I.S.D.

6.E. Approval for proclamation to designate the week of April 14-18, 2014, as Public School Volunteer Week in the Edgewood I.S.D.

6.F. Approval to proclaim April 30, 2014, as Dia de los Ninos/Dia de los Libros, and April 28 - May 4, 2014, as Celebrando Cinco de Mayo in Edgewood ISD, with a parade and festival on Sunday, May 4, 2014.

7. Individual Items for Consideration and Approval:

7.A. Approval to accept Algebra II as a graduation requirement.

7.B. Approval to purchase backpacks and school supplies for Edgewood ISD students for the 2014-2015 school year from Educational Products, Inc., for an amount of approximately $488,220.00, funded by Title I, Part A, of the Federal Elementary and Secondary Education Act, and local funds.

7.C. Approval of a 1.5% general pay increase for all District employees for the 2014-2015 employment year, other than the Superintendent and other than were prohibited by law.

7.D. Approval of the Edgewood ISD School District employee compensation plan for the 2014-2015 school year.  

7.E. Approval of Summer Schedule Program with Compensation Plan Adjustment for 2013-2014 budget year.

7.F. Approval of the comprehensive offering of summer programs for 2014 in the Edgewood ISD through the collaboration of the departments in the Academic Division and the Operations Departments.
