3.A. Announcement of Board of Trustees required continuing education hours.

3.B. Approval of the 2012-2013 principal mentor stipends for a total amount of $10,000.00, to be paid with Title I, Part A funds.

3.C. Approval to purchase six 77 passenger school buses in the approximate amount of $558,000.00.

3.D. Approval of the use of the Edgewood Fine Arts Academy Recital Hall and Cafeteria by the Edgewood Lions Club with a waiver of fees as permitted by Policy GKD (Local).

3.E. Authorization for the disposal of identified surplus, obsolete or otherwise useless property, utilizing the public auction method of disposal and such other methods as may be otherwise necessitated under Policy CI (Local).

3.F. Approval of Budget Amendments as of December 12, 2012.

3.G. Approval of Renewal of the Excess Workers Compensation Insurance and Safety National Casualty Corporation in the amount of $56,267.00.

3.H. Approval to purchase 780 hams with "Meal Deal" included from H.E.B. for an amount not to exceed $24,960.00.

3.I. Approval to hire an architect to design an acceptable traffic solution for the parking lot problems at Gardendale Elementary.

3.J. Approval of Saur Construction, Inc. to construct concrete foundation for dugouts and concession stand at Edgewood Baseball Field and batting cage at Tiger Field.

4. Motion to go into Closed Session:

4.A. [Section 551.071, Government Code - Consultation With Attorney:] For a private consultation with the Board’s attorney with respect to pending or contemplated litigation or settlement offers, and/or on matters where the attorney's duty to the Board, under the Texas Disciplinary Rules of Professional Conduct of the State Bar of Texas clearly conflicts with the open government provisions of Chapter 551 of the Government Code, to wit:

4.A.1. Proposed interlocal agreement with the City Regarding: Pre-K initiatives (No Action Item)

4.A.2. Legal issues associated with agenda items brought into Closed Session.

4.B. [Section 551.074, Texas Government Code - Personnel Matters:] To deliberate the, appointment, employment, evaluation, reassignment, duties, discipline or dismissal of a public officer or employee, to wit:

4.B.1. Martha Gonzalez - regarding abandonment of contract.

4.B.2. Offer of Employment:

4.B.2.a. Kenneth Jacobs - who interviewed for the position of Chief of Police, but who would be subject to assignment and reassignment by the Superintendent within Pay Grade Range of AM-4, with compensation dependent on the assignment (Non-Chapter 21 employment).

5.A. Action, decision, determination or vote on matters listed as closed session items.

5.B. Proposed finding, as required by Title 19, Texas Administrative Code, Section 249.14 (g), that Good Cause did not exist under Section 21.105(c)(2) of the Texas Education Code for abandonment of contract by Martha Gonzalez and that the Superintendent be authorized to pursue appropriate sanctions with SBEC as the Superintendent determines appropriate in accordance with law.

5.C. Approval of promotions, transfers, new hires, resignations, retirements and re-assignments for professional contract personnel where Board Action is required. [Note: Board action on this item, if any, is limited to those personnel items that require Board action on this items, if any, otherwise, the item is for information only, whether or not the Board approves a motion to approve this item; and, in any event, the Board does not approve transfers, resignations previously approved by the Superintendent, retirements and reassignments.]

5.D. Proposed authorization for approval of amendments to the Original Agreement with the City of San Antonio involving the District's use of Kennedy Park, to permit the District to construct a field house and related improvements on the property for the benefit of the District's Mata Stadium athletic facilities and related matters.

5.E. Determination of best procurement method for the proposed construction of a field house and other improvements at Kennedy Park for the benefit of the District; and authorization for the Superintendent to procure an environment study, if necessary, and prepare an appropriate Request for Qualifications (RFQ) and proceed with advertising same in order to procure the services required for the Kennedy Park field house construction project, subject to the District and City successfully amending the Original Kennedy Park Use Agreement to permit construction and related activities.
