8.I. Approval to accept Texas Education Agency funds, entitled Title I - School Improvement Program American Recovery and Reinvestment Act Grant, in the amount of $152,379 and Title I - School Improvement Program funds of $287,418 to benefit Memorial High School's Improvement Process.

8.J. Approval of Letter of Agreement with Sports America SA, LTD, d/b/a Time Warner Park, for the Employee Picnic on May 15, 2010, in the amount of $26,800 using local funds.

8.K. Approval of the District's Self-Funded Workers' Compensation Excess Insurance in the amount $73,439.00.

8.L. Approval to accept the Texas Education Agency's Algebra Readiness Grant for E.T. Wrenn for 2010-2012. The Notice of Grant award SAS #A135-10 authorizes $235,000 for this program.

9. Individual Items for Consideration and Approval:

9.A. Acceptance of the resignation of George C. Garnica Jr., from the Board of Trustees of the Edgewood Independent School District;
|
9.B. Receipt of nominations to fill the vacancy by appointment on the Board of Trustees until the next trustee election, as authorized by Section 11.060 of the Texas Education Code.
|
9.C. Approval of promotions, transfers, new hires, resignations, retirements and re-assignments for professional contract personnel where Board Action is required. [Note: Board action on this item, if any, is limited to those personnel items that require Board action; otherwise, the item is for information only, whether or not the Board approves a motion to approve this item; and, in any event, the Board does not approve transfers, resignations previously approved by the
Superintendent, retirements and reassignments.]

9.D. Approval of a memorandum of understanding between Avance-San Antonio and EISD to offer transition services to Early Head Start (EHS) families.
|
9.E. Approval to allow Memorial High School to enter into a consultant contract with Five Star Education Solutions.
|
9.F. Approval of the Pearson Prevent subscription agreement terms and conditions allowing the District to utilize the Prevent software program for identification of students exhibiting early warning signs of potentially dropping out of school. Pearson has agreed to waive its fees for the license.

9.G. Approval of new courses for the 2010-2011 school year.
|
9.H. Approval to purchase new Fujitsu M2011 Netbook from M&A Technology in the amount of $49,940.00, to be paid with American Recovery and Reinvestment Act funds.

9.I. Approval to purchase the following hardware and software from CDW-G: Epson XGA 2200 LUM Digital Projectors for $24,725.00, Avermedia 300 AF Document Cameras for $24,975.00, HP DJ T1200 Printer 44 inch for $16,404.00, ADO Acrobat Pro 9 WIN L3 and ADO Acrobat Pro 9 WIN MED for $9,914.20, for a grand total of $76,018.20, to be paid with American Recovery & Reinvestment Act funds, Federal and State funds.

9.J. Approval of Certified Tax Roll for 2009.

9.K. Approval of resolution to appoint the Executive Director for Business Operations, Accounting Manager, and Lead Accountant to serve as the District's Investment Officers.

9.L. Approval to increase architectural fees for Zapata & Associates by the amount of $24,150.00 for the architectural services of the Cardenas Renovation Project, to be paid for from 2009 Bond proceeds.

9.M. Approval to enter into a contract with Johnson Control, Inc. as the contractor for the Perales, L.B. Johnson, and Guerra HVAC Mechanical Systems Re-Trofit Projects in the amount of $300,000.00.

9.N. Approval of E-rate 13 multi-year competitive Bid RFP #10-006 (P2) hardware and basic maintenance services for voice, data, video, and maintenance services, not to exceed $3,275,000.
