2. Motion to go into Closed Session:

2.A. [Section 551.071, Government Code - Consultation With Attorney:] For a private consultation with the Board’s attorney with respect to pending or contemplated litigation or settlement offers, and/or on matters where the attorney's duty to the Board, under the Texas Disciplinary Rules of Professional Conduct of the State Bar of Texas clearly conflicts with the open government provisions of Chapter 551 of the Government Code, to wit:

2.A.1. Appointment of Title IX Coordinator and related matters.

2.A.2. Legal issues dealing with items proposed for Closed Session.

2.B. [Section 551.074, Texas Government Code - Personnel Matters:] To deliberate the, appointment, employment, evaluation, reassignment, duties, discipline or dismissal of a public officer or employee, to wit:

2.B.1. New Hires:

2.B.1.a. Ross Rogers: on a standard District Probationary Contract as a Certified Administrator for the 2009-2010 contract year, at a pay grade range of Pay Grade AP4 through AP5, subject to assignment and reassignment by the Superintendent. [Note: Mr. Rogers was interviewed for an assignment as an Assistant Principal at Gus Garcia Middle School, subject to assignment and reassignment by the Superintendent.]

2.B.2. Change in Contract Status:

2.B.2.a. Dante Chavarria: on a standard Term Contract as a Certified Administrator for the 2009-2010 contract year, at Pay Grade AP4, subject to assignment and reassignment by the Superintendent. [Note: Mr. Chavarria was interviewed for an assignment as a Special Education Specialist, subject to assignment and reassignment by the Superintendent.]

3. Discussion/Action Items:

3.A. Action, decision, determination or vote on matters brought into Closed Session and/or listed under Section II (A) and II (B) of this agenda.

3.B. Order Authorizing the Issuance, Sale, and Delivery of Edgewood ISD Unlimited Tax School Building Bonds, Series 2009; Securing the payment thereof by authorizing the Levy of an annual AD Valorem Tax; Approving and Authorizing the Execution of all instruments and procedures related thereto including a paying agent/registrar agreement and an investor acknowledgement letter; and containing other matters related to the subject.

3.C. Approval of Education Service Center - Region XX participation commitments for the 2009-2010 school year.

4.A. Public meeting with Congressman Gonzalez at a District facility to provide important and timely information that will impact or be of particular interest to the parents and students of the District, with waiver of fees and direct costs in accordance with Policy GKD (Local).
