1. Call Meeting to Order for April 27, 2009.

2. Time for Public Comment: In the event that a quorum of the Board is not present to open the meeting, the Monday session shall thereby be cancelled after a reasonable time in the opinion of the Board members present or, if there is no Board member present, the Superintendent or designee, and agenda items II through III shall be moved to Tuesday, April 28, 2009, immediately following Section IV on the Agenda.

10.A. Approval of a contract with the City of San Antonio, through its Department of Community Initiatives, with modifications to be approved by the Superintendent, for the purpose of providing Head Start Services to EISD students.

10.B. Approval to submit to the Texas Education Agency the renewal to continue the Innovative Courses Diversified Career & Preparation I & II for one year 2009/2010.
|
10.C. Approval to submit the new high school courses in the areas of Career & Technical Education to be added to the list of courses offered to students of the Edgewood ISD.
|
10.D. Approval to accept the 2009-2010 Texas Education Agency Intensive Summer Programs for Middle and High School students Pilot Program Grant funds for the amount of $112,500.
|
10.E. Approval to submit to the Texas Education Agency an amendment to the Standard Application SAS# PerkAA09 for additional Career and Technology funds in the amount of $21,872.

10.F. Approval to Edgewood ISD high school students to participate in San Antonio College's Transition Program for juniors and seniors during the 2009-2012 school years.

10.G. Approval to enter into collaboration with Trinity Upward Bound to offer Edgewood ISD students the opportunity to earn dual credit college hours in a course through Palo Alto College.

10.H. Approval to submit amendment #2 to the 2008-2009 Automation of Consolidated Application (SAS#NCLBAA09) for federal funding for the following grants: Title I, Part A; Title I, Part C-Migrant; Title II, Part A-TPTR; Title II, Part D - Technology; Title III, Part A-LEP; Title IV, Part A-Safe & Drug-Free Schools.

10.I. Approval to submit the Texas Education Agency eGrant application of maximum entitlement (SAS#: SPEDAA09) to fund the remaining Special Education Salaries and program support personnel until the end of June 2009.
|
10.J. Approval of the City of San Antonio Parks and Recreation Department to use Gardendale, H.B. Gonzalez, Las Palmas, LB. Johnson, Loma Park, Perales, Roosevelt, Stafford and Winston for the Play S.A. and Kennedy and Memorial High School for the Teen Connection Summer Youth Recreation Programs.

10.K. Approval of promotions, transfers, new hires, resignations, retirements and re-assignments for professional contract personnel where Board Action is required. [Note: Board action on this item, if any, is limited to those personnel items that require Board action; otherwise, the item is for information only, whether or not the Board approves a motion to approve this item; and, in any event, the Board does not approve transfers, resignations previously approved by the
Superintendent, retirements and reassignments.]

10.L. Approval of Individual Expenditures Equal to or Exceeding $25,000 to wit:

10.L.1. Texas Workforce Commission Human Resources/ Reimburse $33,986 - Interlocal Agreement

10.M. Approval of Resolution extending the depository contract with Bank of America for the District's depository banking services from September 1, 2009 through August 31, 2011.

10.N. Board Resolution authorizing disposal of portable restrooms as salvage property, in accordance with Policy CI (Local).
|
10.O. Approval of a Change Order to install an ornamental fence fronting Brentwood M.S. and the Hoelscher Building funded from 2004 Bond interest contingency fund in the amount not to exceed $79,000.00.

10.P. Approval of bid from Keller Sign Company for the installation of a LED Wireless and Remote controlled colored Marquee for the Edgewood Theatre of Performing Arts in the amount not to exceed $32,000.00 from Fund Balance.

10.Q. Approval to create a monetary incentive system utilizing up to $42,000 of local funds in the amount of $300 for each qualifying summer school teacher in an effort to promote summer school teacher recruitment and successful student completion of the summer program.

10.R. Approval of memorandum of understanding between Edgewood ISD & San Antonio area Chapter of the American National Red Cross.
