2. Motion to go into Closed Session:

2.A. [Section 551.071, Government Code - Consultation With Attorney:] For a private consultation with the Board’s attorney with respect to pending or contemplated litigation or settlement offers, and/or on matters where the attorney's duty to the Board, under the Texas Disciplinary Rules of Professional Conduct of the State Bar of Texas clearly conflicts with the open government provisions of Chapter 551 of the Government Code, to wit:

2.A.1. Quantum merit compensation for counselors required to do extra duties after contract year.

2.A.2. Legal issues associated with agenda items brought into Closed Session.

2.B. [Section 551.074, Texas Government Code - Personnel Matters:] To deliberate the, appointment, employment, evaluation, reassignment, duties, discipline or dismissal of a public officer or employee, to wit:

2.B.1. New Hires:

2.B.1.a. Velma Ybarra - on a Probationary Contract as a Chapter 21 Certified Administrator, at a pay grade range of AP-4 through AP-6, depending on the assignment. [Note: Ms. Ybarra has been interviewed for the position of Career and Technology Partnership Director, but shall be subject to assignment and reassignment by the Superintendent.]

2.B.1.b. Latissa Eisenberg - on a Probationary Contract as a Non-Chapter 21 Employee at pay grade AP-2. [Note: Ms. Eisenberg has been interviewed for the position of Athletic Trainer, but shall be subject to assignment and reassignment by the Superintendent.]

2.B.2. Existing Employees:

2.B.2.a. Emilia Lira - on a Term Contract as a Chapter 21 Certified Administrator, at a pay grade range of AP-4 through AP-7, depending on the assignment. [Note: Ms. Lira has been interviewed for the position of Alternative Discipline Center Administrator, but shall be subject to assignment and reassignment by the Superintendent.]

3.A. Action, decision, determination or vote on other matters listed under closed session items.

3.B. Proposed award of extra duty contracts for 5 days of summer work for specified personnel in preparation for band program for 2008-2009.

3.C. Approval of promotions, transfers, new hires, resignations, retirements and re-assignments for professional contract personnel where Board Action is required. [Note: Board action on this item, if any, is limited to those personnel items that require Board action; otherwise, the item is for information only, whether or not the Board approves a motion to approve this item; and, in any event, the Board does not approve transfers, resignations previously approved by the Superintendent, retirements and reassignments.]

3.D. Proposed Call for Districtwide Trustees Elections for November 4, 2008, and Adoption of Election Order and related matters.
