Such an Emergency meeting is authorized under Texas Government Code § 551.045 due to the presence of an urgent public necessity and imminent threat to public safety that requires immediate Board action concerning school closures, expenditure of public funds and implementation of alternate instruction methods in response to an imminent threat to public safety in light of the COVID-19 outbreak, declared to be a world-wide pandemic by the World Health Organization and the subject of a Disaster Declaration by the Governor of the State of Texas.   

Such an emergency meeting is authorized under Texas Government Code 551.045 due to the presence of an urgent public necessity that requires immediate board action concerning consideration of a request for extension of time to consider the application for limited assessed valuation submitted by Route 66 Wind Power, LLC, which must be granted or denied in order to comply with the statutory deadline for such request.

Section 551.073     Purpose-Discussing negotiated contract for prospective gifts or donations
Section 551.074     Purpose-Discussing personnel or to hear complaints against personnel
Section 551.076     Purpose-Considering the deployment, specific occasions for, or implementation of security personnel or devices
Section 551.082     Purpose-Considering discipline of a public school child, or complaint or charge against personnel
Section 551.083     Purpose-Considering the standards, guidelines, terms or conditions the Board will follow, or will instruct its representatives to follow, in consultation with representatives of employee groups
Section 551.084     Purpose-Excluding witnesses from a hearing

Should any final action, final decision or final vote be required in the opinion of the School Board, with regard to any matter considered in such closed or executive meeting or session, then the final action, final decision, or final vote shall be either;
(a)     In the open meeting covered by the notice upon the reconvening of the public meeting; or,
(b)     At a subsequent public meeting of the School Board upon notice thereof; as the School Board shall determine.

Meeting will begin at 7:00 p.m. or immediately after the band concert, whichever is later.
