A fifteen (15) minute time period is set aside to allow citizens to address the Board on any subject.  Five speakers will be chosen on a first-come, first-serve basis with the exception of students who will always be allowed to speak first.  No action may take place in response, but the Board may consider future action.

Time is set aside preceding the action agenda to allow citizens the opportunity to comment or raise issues concerning items that will be considered for action by the Board. Persons desiring to address the Board must complete a Speaker Registration Card and submit it to the president. Individual time limits are three (3) minutes.

The agenda item allows citizens, who were not able to speak during the first open forum, the opportunity to address the Board on any subject. To address the Board in closed session, arrangements must be made with the Superintendent prior to the Board meeting and all administrative channels must have been exhausted.

This agenda item provides a time for Board members to present upcoming events upon their respective calendars which they feel may be of interest to their colleagues.

The requirement for notice prescribed by this section does not apply to matters about which specific factual information or a recitation of existing policy is furnished in response to an inquiry made at such meeting, whether such inquiry is made by a member of the general public or by a member of the governmental body. The Board requests citizens attending public meetings observe appropriate rules of decorum. Therefore, please refrain from private conversations while the Board is in session, and from expressing your agreement or disagreement with a speaker by applause or other forms of demonstration. No signs, placards, or other audio or visual props will be allowed in the Board room.
