I. Call to Order
(The superintendent has the gavel and opens the meeting since no one has been elected to run the meeting. The superintendent will turn the meeting over after the reorganization of the board is complete. |

I do solemnly affirm that I will support and defend the Constitution of the United States and the Constitution of the State of Alaska and that I will honestly, faithfully, and impartially discharge my duties as a school board member to the best of my ability. |

I.D. Reorganization of the Board
"Nominations are open for the position of _____________" If only one person is nominated, say "hearing no other nominations, if there is no objection, the nomination for ____________ will be closed." Then vote. If more than one person is nominated, board members will write the name of their choice for the position on a piece of paper. Votes are then read out loud. |

IV.A. School Board Seat B Open- Per Board Policy 9223 Board Vacancies: The School Board should open the seat up to applications or nominations, announce the names, interview the candidates at a public meeting, and select a provisional appointee by majority vote at a public meeting. The person appointed shall hold office until the next regularly scheduled elections for district School Board members and shall be afforded all the powers and duties of a School Board member upon appointment.

IV.B. AASB Annual Conference- November 4 is pre-conference meeting, November 5-7 Annual conference.

IV.C. School Calendar Revision- To make up the COVID-19 Day, September 2, 2021; purpose to move the Teacher Workday scheduled for January 4, 2022, to January 3, 2022; Teacher Inservice Day from January 5th to January 4th, 2022, and students to return to class on January 5, 2022, instead of January 6, 2022.

IV.D. Executive Session- to discuss an ongoing matter the immediate knowledge of would clearly have an adverse effect on the finances and confidence of the district, specifically the ongoing situation between the city and the district for the city contribution that is in arrears.
