III.A. Boardsmanship Academy- Boardsmanship Academy by AASB will be September 19-20. The cost of the academy will be $975 for all board members. It will be a virtual academy via Zoom for those two days.

IV. New Business
|
IV.A. BP 6162.5 Standardized Testing- This update requires that staff members supervising student testing do not access electronic devices during the test, except as necessary to administer the test. This strengthens test security and is adopted in response to DEED guidance.

IV.B. BP 5112.6- This modification to the student exclusion policy clarifies that a board may deny an admission for any reason permitted by statute, not only reasons related to physical or mental health.

IV.C. Title IX Resolution- This resolution simply states that the Board will comply with and adhere to the provisions of the new rule. At present, some aspects of the new rule are being challenged in court and it is unknown what the outcome will be.

IV.D. Indian Ed Grant- We were awarded $11,959. The Indian Ed Parent Committee directed the grant to be used toward literacy initiatives.

IV.E. Rural Education Achievement Program- Small, Rural School Achievement Grant- TCSD was awarded $6,856 through this grant. This grant is used for general expenses.

IV.F. Acting Principal- Name Arnold Marks to continue as acting principal for the 2020-2021 school year. The acting principal is in charge when for times Superintendent/Principal is not in the village or is incapacitated while school is in session. The pay is based on previous pay and negotiated agreement at $1500 for the first 20 days and $75 for each additional day.

IV.G. Athletic Director Extra Duty Contract- Arnold Marks to continue in the role of Athletic Director for the 2020-2021 school year. The pay is based on previous pay and negotiated Agreement at $1000 for the year.

IV.H. Administrative Assistant- Rhiannon Reed as the administrative assistant. During the probationary period, the salary is $14.00 per hour. Upon successful completion of the probationary period, the salary would be raised to $15.00 per hour.

IV.I. Migrant Education Instructional Aide- Hire Desilee Johnson as an instructional aide. Starting pay at $12.50 per hour, moved to $13.00 per hour after successful completion of the 90-day probationary period.

IV.J. School Cook- Hire Roxanne Kennedy as the school cook. Starting pay at $12.50 per hour, moved to $13.00 per hour after successful completion of the 90-day probationary period.

IV.K. Temporary/Substitute Custodian- Hire Patsy Starr as a temporary/substitute custodian. Salary to be $15.00 per hour as needed.

IV.L. Annual Raise for returning classified staff- Per the classified negotiated agreement returning classified staff with satisfactory performance are to receive merit step increases in salary.

IV.M. Mentor Teacher Program- Contract with Alaska Statewide Mentor Project to provide personal mentoring for both Tanner Winters and Margret Taylor during the 2020-2021 school year. The total cost of the project is $4000 and would be paid out of the School Improvement Grant Funds.
