8.B. Out of State Travel Request(s):
8.B.1. Fleming Middle School teacher Jerry Wilder requests out of state travel permission for the Fleming eighth grade band for their annual trip to Six Flags in Vallejo, California. The date of the trip is June 10-11, 2017.  
8.B.2. Director Jessica Durrant requests approval to have a group of eleven people (teachers, administrators and ELL department) attend the SIOP training in Austin, Texas on May 11-13, 2017.  The total cost will be paid out of a $90,000 grant that was awarded to our district to support our ELL program at all schools.
8.C. Grant Request(s):
8.C.1. Lincoln Savage MS Principal Mark Higgins requests approval to apply for a COSA grant with a potential to gain up to $3,000.  The funds would be used to purchase a new washing machine to launder uniforms.
8.C.2. Ft. Vannoy teacher Lindsay Devore would like to apply for a $1500 Grants Pass Rotary grant for more technology in the classroom.  She would also like to apply for a Walmart grant in March for the same resource.
8.C.3. District Accountant Lisa Cross would like the board to approve a Facility Grant application to be submitted to the Oregon Department of Education for an amount not to exceed $9,504.  
8.C.4. Illinois Valley HS College & Career Center requests permission to respond to the Ford Family Foundation Request for Proposal regarding education for job readiness.  The C&C Center would like to seek funding to create and maintain a student internship/apprenticeship program utilizing local business and industry to coach high school students in real life job skills.  Ford Foundation anticipates an average grant fulfillment of $50,000, with multiple projects funded.
