Description:
On January 12, 2004, the State Board of Education approved the Open-Enrollment charter application for Haas Hall Academy, Fayetteville.  The State Board approved a ten-year renewal of the charter in April of 2012.  On July 14, 2016, the State Board approved the charter's request to license a new campus in Springdale.  The charter is approved to serve students in grades 7-12 with a maximum enrollment of 500 students at each campus.  Representatives of Haas Hall are appearing before the Panel to request amendments to the current charter.

III.2. Request for Open-Enrollment Charter School Amendments:  KIPP Delta Public Schools, Helena-West Helena

Description:
On March 11, 2002, the State Board of Education approved the Open-Enrollment charter application for KIPP Delta Public Schools, Helena-West Helena.  The State Board approved a ten-year renewal of the charter in March of 2013.  The Helena-West Helena campuses are approved to serve students in grades K-12 with a maximum enrollment of 1,100.  Representatives of KIPP Delta are appearing before the Charter Authorizing Panel to request an amendment to the current charter.

Description:
On November 13, 2000, the State Board of Education approved the Open-Enrollment charter application for Arkansas Arts Academy.  The Charter Authorizing Panel approved a three-year renewal of the charter in February of 2015.  The charter is approved to serve students in grades K-12 with a maximum enrollment of 825.  Representatives of Arkansas Arts Academy are appearing before the Charter Authorizing Panel to request an amendment to the current charter.

III.4. Request for District Conversion Charter School Amendments: Cross County High School

Description:
On January 2011, the State Board of Education approved the district conversion charter application for Cross County High School. The Charter Authorizing Panel approved a five year renewal of the charter in February of 2016. The charter is approved to serve students in grades 7-12 with a maximum enrollment of 500. Representatives of Cross County High School are appearing before the Charter Authorizing Panel to request an amendment to the current charter.

III.5. Hearing of Adult Education Public Charter School Application: The Excel Center, Little Rock

Description:
The Excel Center is a proposed adult education public charter school to be located within the Little Rock School District.  The sponsoring entity is Goodwill Industries of Arkansas, Inc.  The applicant is requesting to serve adult students in grades 9-12 with a maximum enrollment of 125, beginning in the 2017-2018 school year.  The applicant has notified affected districts of this proposed public charter school.  

ADE staff reviewed the application and concerns were shared with the applicant for response.  The application, the ADE evaluation, and the applicant’s response are included for review by the Charter Authorizing Panel.
