G.1.a. District Administration recommends approval of revisions to Policy JFB - Open Enrollment. This policy was brought for review during the November 9 Board Meeting. The proposed revisions added requirements in compliance with A.R.S. 15-816.01 that the district shall post open enrollment policies on the website and that open enrollment capacity by school, grade level, and any other specialized programs must be posted on each school's website and updated at least every twelve weeks. District Administration recommends merging these new requirements with our existing Open Enrollment guidelines regarding application and notification timelines, admissions standards, and procedures for denial, revocation, and appeal.

The committee will consist of parents, teachers, and administrators, and will ensure the existing draft curriculum aligns with state law regarding Family Life Education.

H.3.a. The District Administration recommends approval of the 2021-2022 Gifted Program Scope and Sequence, which is generally consistent with previous years. This annual submission and approval is required by the Arizona Department of Education.

H.4.a. District Administration will present a draft of the 2023-2024 school year calendar. No action will be taken regarding this item during the current Board Meeting to allow public review and comment prior to December 14, when Governing Board approval will be requested.

H.5. Request Approval of Revisions to 2021-2022 and 2022-2023 School Year Calendars
|
H.5.a. District Administration recommends approval of revisions to the school year calendars for 2021-2022 and 2022-2023 to include the Juneteenth Holiday on June 19th or the closest scheduled work day if June 19th falls on a weekend. During these weeks, District twelve-month employees would work four eight-hour days rather than four ten-hour days.
