District Administration recommends approval of the 2023 summer calendar, which is consistent with prior years and includes updated dates to specify work days, holidays, and district-closure days for employees who work during the summer months. The attached draft memo identifies the specific schedule week by week, with non-holiday weeks consisting of four ten-hour days (Monday through Thursday), and holiday weeks consisting of four eight-hour days and one eight-hour holiday. If approved, this memo would be distributed to twelve-month employees.

E.1. Recommend Approval of Purchase and Installation of a Kitchen Hood Replacement at Centennial Elementary School by Chasse Building Team
|
E.1.a. District administration recommends approval to contract with Chasse Building team to purchase and install a kitchen hood at Centennial Elementary School. The current hood is inoperable. The new kitchen hood would include an ansul system and fire alarm. The new hood will allow for open flame cooking resulting in additional menu options provided to students. The purchase would utilize pricing through the 1GPA JOC Contract # 18-15PV. A $100,000 NSLP Equipment grant was secured for this purpose and the remainder would be paid from Food Service Funds. The estimated total cost is $113,340.

E.2. Recommend Approval to Purchase Flat Panel Touchscreen Displays and ScreenBeam Wireless Casting Devices from Bluum for Installation at Laguna and Homer Davis Elementary Schools

E.2.a. District administration recommends approval to purchase 53 Newline flat panel touchscreen displays and 55 ScreenBeam wireless casting devices from Bluum to be installed at Laguna and Davis to replace aging projectors and SMART Boards. The total cost is anticipated at $164,473.44 and would utilize Mohave state contract pricing (Mohave 20F-TROX-1003). Federal ESSER funds would be utilized for this purchase.

E.4.a. District administration recommends approval of an Intergovernmental Agreement (IGA) with Pima Community College to provide dual enrollment opportunities for high school students in Flowing Wells to earn college credit for successful completion of approved courses. The course catalog is attached and includes the new Translation and Interpretation course to be offered at Flowing Wells High School (Please note that the course catalog is exhaustive; most courses are not available to FW students at this time due to scheduling and staffing constraints). This IGA has been reviewed and signed by District legal counsel and would be effective through June 30, 2028.
