2. Land Acknowledgment  
Presenter:  Orator Sebastian Hunger
Description:  The Native Student Union at Ashland Middle School created a land acknowledgment to honor the origins of of the lands on which our schools operate. Orator Sebastian Hunger is a member of NASU and one of the authors. He is affiliated with the Athabaskan people of Alaska and a 7th grade student at AMS.
3. Adoption of Agenda (At this time Board members are provided the opportunity to amend the Regular Session agenda.)

Description:  It is recommended that the Board adopt the agenda for April 12, 2021.

Description:  The National PTA hosts Teacher Appreciation Week the first full week of May each year. The Board will review a proposed resolution to declare May 3-7, 2021, Teacher Appreciation Week in the Ashland School District.

Description:  A review of revised language for the standard administrator contract, which will be issued to each individual with appropriate tailoring to their situations - longevity, etc. Question: Should the Board approve the template for new contracts with district administrators?

Description:  The Board will review a draft MOU governing working conditions and associated compensation for certified staff during planned summer sessions. Question: Should the Board approve the draft MOU as presented?

11.A. District Statement Opposing Anti-Asian and Pacific Islander Rhetoric and Violence
Presenter:  Director of Equity & Inclusion Andrea Townsend
Description:  In light of increasing incidents of hateful speech and violent acts directed at Asians and Pacific Islanders, the school district affirms its commitment to equity and stands in solidarity with our Asian and Pacific Islander students, families, staff and community members. To reinforce this commitment, the Board is asked to approve the attached statement. Question: Should the Board approve the statement on Anti-Asian and Pacific Islander speech and acts of violence as presented?

11.B. Amendment to ASD-AEA Mou - Hybrid Instruction
Presenter:  Director of Human Resources Laurie Rooper
Description:  The Board will review an amendment to the recently approved MOU governing certified employees in hybrid schooling. This amendment concerns the role of teachers in helping prepare the transition to expanded return to in-person schooling. Question: Should the Board approve the Amendment to the ASD-AEA MOU for Hybrid Schooling as presented?

11.C. Designate April 22-23 as Non-Instructional Days
Presenter:  Superintendent Samuel Bogdanove
Description:  In order to allow sufficient preparation time for students returning to in-person schooling 4 days a week, the administration proposes to designate two days as non-instructional days. This will enable personnel to arrange classrooms, prepare materials and prepare for the April 26 expanded student return. Question: Should the Board approve the recommendation to designate April 22 and April 23 as non-instructional days?

12. Announcements and Appointments  
12.A. On Monday, April 19, 2021 at 7:00 pm, the Board will hold a Work Session with a focus on bond related projects via Zoom.
12.B. The Ashland School District Budget Committee will meet Wednesday, April 21, at 7:00 pm via Zoom.
12.C. On Monday, April 26, 2021 at 7:00 pm the Board will hold a Work Session, location TBD
12.D. The Ashland School District Budget Committee will meet Wednesday, May 5, at 7:00 pm via Zoom.
12.E. The Board will hold a Regular Session Meeting on Monday, May 10, 2021, at 7:00 pm. Board members will convene in the District Office,885 Siskiyou Blvd. and the public may participate via Zoom.
