Description:
 Monthly Review of Revenues, Expenditures and Budget Performance Update
Discussion:
Monthly review of Budget Performance Update and the Year to Date Revenue and Expenditure reports.

II.B. 2022-23 Student Fee Recommendation
Description:
We have prepared a brief overview of the annual student fees. At this time, administration is not recommending an increase in fees for the 2022-23 school year.

II.C. Budget Resolution - Authorization of Individual to Prepare the FY2023 Budget
Description:
The Board of Education is required to appoint an individual to prepare the budget in accordance with the legal requirements outlined in the Illinois School Code.  Traditionally, the District has appointed the Assistant Superintendent for Finance & Operations to prepare the tentative and final budget for the upcoming fiscal year.  Mrs. McPartlin will prepare the tentative budget for approval at the June 2022 BOE meeting.

II.D. THSD214 Wildstang Usage Agreement - Update
Description:
The initial five-year contract with THSD214 is up for renegotiation and renewal July 1st.  The prior agreement allowed usage of several instructional spaces at MacArthur by the D214 Wildstang Robotics Program in exchange for site and classroom enhancements, including furniture and equipment.  Moving into the renewal, District 23 is requesting an annual contribution by D214 as well as several pieces of equipment, including large and small scale 3D printers, software and supplies as well as improvements to MacArthur building graphics.

II.E. Phase I - MacArthur HVAC Retrofit Contracts
Description:
The District has worked with Arcon and AMSCO to develop plans for Phase I of the MacArthur Retrofit work.  This work includes retrofitting the 33 Bard units and all programming services by Honeywell.  A proposal for the work has been submitted by Emcor. eCube has provided a proposal for the commissioning services. This work has been exempted from public bidding as proprietary and specific to our proven solutions at other buildings.

II.F. Grodsky Administration Building - Basement Updates
Description:
The current basement has several issues that are in need of correction.  Administration has been working with Arcon to develop a plan to address these issues and improve the offices, workspaces and storage areas to serve the District well for many, many years to come.

II.G. Plan to Utilize Remaining PHIL Funds
Description:
Upon the dissolution of the Prospect Heights Instrumental League (PHIL) in 2017-18, the group's remaining funds were donated to the District for the designated purpose of enhancing the Vocal and Instrumental Music (VIM) Programs.  Recent requests for purchases of equipment have been made that would fully abate these funds within the 2021-22 school year.

II.H. Phase II - MacArthur Middle School Library
Description:
Planning for Phase 2 of the MacArthur Library is underway and includes additional soft and hard seating components along with some mobile book storage which also serve as a divider for smaller instructional spaces as needed. The anticipated budget for Phase 2 is $18,000 and will be paid for utilizing the BOE furniture allocation for MacArthur as approved in the FY2022 budget.  Preliminary product guides and renderings have been attached for the Committee's review.  Final layouts and proposals will be brought to the full Board for approval.

II.I. SSCIP Annual Insurance Coverage Renewal (Property, Liability and Cyber)
Description:
Annually, the Board is asked to approve the payment of the premiums for property and liability insurance. This year, we have included the renewal for cyber liability coverages as well.

II.J. Early Learning Expansion - Update
Discussion:
Administration has organized a team of key contributors to assist in reviewing the District’s options as we work towards ensuring that District facilities continue to support collaborative learning opportunities for all of our students. A brief overview of the team and their responsibilities has been attached for review.
