10.A. Finance Update

Description:
The administration will provide an informational update covering three areas: preparation for the FY25-26 annual audit, beginning-of-year financial activities, and an overview of the Summary of Finance (SOF) template. Audit preparation includes closing out the prior fiscal year and working toward completing the Annual Financial Report by November. The beginning-of-year update includes budget activation, distribution of salary letters, and support for new office staff to ensure proper procedures are in place. Finally, the presentation will explain the SOF and how the district uses the template to monitor state and local funding in real time, enabling timely adjustments and accurate financial reporting.

Description:
The administration is presenting the Quarterly Investment Report along with the annual report for board approval. These reports provide an overview of interest earnings from district investments throughout the past fiscal year and ensure transparency in financial practices.

11.C. Fundraisers
Description:
  • Authorization for Westwood Primary Campus to conduct Big Kahuna fundraisers (Fall, Santa, Spring, and Graduation) with proceeds benefiting student activity. (See attached form)
  • Authorization for Westwood High School to conduct a school spirit items fundraiser at all sports games, with proceeds designated to support senior prom. All items ranging from $1 to $5.
  • The Class of 2030 will be hosting a school dance on November 8, 2025, at Westwood Junior High. Tickets will be sold in advance for $5 each, and donations will also be accepted. This fun and engaging event will provide students with a safe and enjoyable evening while raising funds to directly support the Class of 2030. All proceeds will go toward class activities, events, and future needs, helping students build school spirit and lasting memories.
  • Westwood Middle School will partner with Poppin Popcorn to raise funds for the campus. Students will sell a variety of items, including popcorn, cookies, and other snacks, with prices ranging up to $25. Proceeds will be used to support the Campus Fund.
  • The Westwood High School Class of 2029 requests approval to host a Homecoming Dance on September 27, 2025. Funds will be raised through ticket sales and the sale of snacks and drinks at the event, with items priced at $2-$5 each. Proceeds from this fundraiser will benefit the Class of 2029 prom.
  • The Westwood High School and Junior High Athletic Department requests approval to sell Adrenaline Coupon Cards from September 16 through October 3, 2025. The cards will be sold at $20 each in advance, with proceeds benefiting the Student Activity Account.
  • The Westwood High School FFA will conduct its annual Fresh Country fundraiser from September 15, 2025, through October 3, 2025. Students will sell a variety of items including fruit, meat, and cookie dough, with prices ranging from $10 to $30. Customers will pay in advance, and the organization will receive 50% of the profits. Proceeds from this fundraiser will directly support FFA activities and the annual FFA Banquet.
  • Westwood Elementary will hold a Sweet and Savory brochure fundraiser with Integrity Promotion from September 12-October 3, 2025. Items include popcorn, chocolates, and more, priced $15-$25, as customers will pay in advance. The school will earn 40% profit, with proceeds supporting the Activity Fund.
  • The MS/HS Band will host a Fan-Pledge donation fundraiser on September 25, 2025. Donations will be collected online through Fan-Pledge, with the band receiving 85% profit. Funds raised will go toward the purchase of a band trailer.
  • Westwood Primary will sell campus t-shirts during September 2025 as an in-house fundraiser. Customers will pay in advance, shirts will be sold for $12 each, with proceeds benefiting student activities for the 2025-2026 school year.
