RELEVANT INFORMATION: Governing Board Policy JKD outlines procedures to be used for long-term suspension hearings. The hearing officers listed on the attached document have been trained to serve in this position. 8.A.7. Consider approving the Chief Financial Officer and Purchasing Director as Governing Board approved designees for disposal of district stewardship or capital asset property, as presented.
RELEVANT INFORMATION: Per Arizona's USFR (Uniform System of Financial Records), school districts must maintain a stewardship list for equipment costing between $1000 and $4999.99. School districts must also account for capital assets, which include land improvements, buildings, building improvements, and equipment costing $5000 or more. Upon disposal of stewardship items or capital assets, an Authorization to Dispose of District Property form must be filled out and approved by the governing board or authorized designee. 8.B.1. Consider adopting the proposed changes in Policy Services Advisory Volume 35, Number 2, No. 744 - 746, from July 2023 as presented.
RELEVANT INFORMATION: Governing Board BGB requires first and second readings of all proposed policy adoptions and approval by the Governing Board. This is the second reading of the proposed policy changes and the Board will be asked to adopt the policies after the second reading. 8.B.2. Consider taking action to suspend the District's restriction against the presence and consumption of alcohol on district grounds, specifically for the six homes located in the Teacher Village at Taylor Hicks, as presented.
RELEVANT INFORMATION: According to Governing Board Policy BGF - Suspension/Repeal of Policy, the Governing Board has the authority to temporarily or permanently suspend by a majority vote the operation of any section or sections of Board policies not established and required by last or vested by contract. Legal counsel has stated that the Governing Board has the authority to temporarily suspend the restriction regarding alcohol, but that the "No Tobacco" policy must be enforced and cannot be waived. 8.B.3. Consider approving the School Facilities Oversight Board "Terms and Conditions for Acceptance of Monies from the Building Renewal Grant Fund", for PUSD school sites, as presented.
RELEVANT INFORMATION: Governing Board approval is required in order for the school Facilities Oversight Board to distribute any monies for projects from the Building Renewal Grant fund in order to be in compliance with state law. RELEVANT INFORMATION: A Capital Plan for Prescott Unified School District must be approved by the Governing Board and submitted to the School Facilities Oversight Board annually. School districts considered as "growing" school districts must submit an annual Capital Plan following Governing Board approval. Due to enrollment fluctuating in the Prescott Unified School District, it is recommended the Capital Plan for 2023-2024 be submitted with "NA" (not applicable) to indicate the school district is not intending to access any additional square footage at this time.
