1.A.1) East High School's Schoolyard Habitat Plan Presentation

Jenny Madole, Agriculture Science teacher at East High School, shared information on East High School's Schoolyard Habitat Plan.
1.A.2) Duluth Public Schools Early Childhood Program Overview

Becky Crane, Early Childhood Special Education Teacher on Special Assignment, and Pam Rees, Director of Head Start, presented a Rubric of Duluth Public Schools Early Childhood Offerings along with an overview of the programs.
1.A.3) Duluth Head Start Program Federal Review Findings

Pam Rees, Director of Head Start, presented information on  the findings of the Duluth Head Start Program Federal Review conducted by the Administration for Children and Families, which took place from October 29-31, 2012.  Program areas that were covered included: Program Governance; Management Systems; Child Development and Education; Child Health and Safety; Eligibility, Recruitment, Selection, Enrollment, and Attendance; Family and Community Engagement; and Fiscal Integrity.
1.A.4) Head Start Child Development and Early Learning Framework Child Outcome Results for Fall

Pam Rees, Director of Head Start, shared the outcomes of the fall aggregated child-level assessment data, which is used in combination with other program data to determine progress toward meeting the Program's goals, to inform parents and the community of results, and to direct continuous improvement related to curriculum, instruction, professional development, program design, and other program decisions. It is required that this data be aggregated and analyzed three times per year.
1.A.5) Community Transformation Project

Sara Nelson of the Duluth Community Garden Program is the recipient of a Community Transformation Grant from the Minnesota Department of Health.  Jamie Zak of the Duluth Community Garden Program, presented an overview of the Program's vision for the five Duluth schools (East High School, Ordean-East and Lincoln Park Middle Schools, and  Meyers-Wilkens and Congdon Park Elementary Schools) that will be partnering with the Duluth Community Garden Program as sub-grantees.

2.A.1) Resolution E-02-13-3075 East High School Forest Designation

Jenny Madole, Agricultural Science teacher at East High School, presented information on her proposal to apply to the Department of Natural Resources (DNR) for School Forest Designation.  Attached is Resolution E-02-13-3075 East High School Forest Designation designating the site as a school forest.

Ron Hagland, Office of Education Equity Coordinator, presented the proposed Office of Education Staff and Program Budget for the 2013-14 school year.
2.B. Resolution E-02-13-3074 - Acceptance of Grant Awards to Duluth Public Schools

Attached is Resolution E-02-13-3074 - Acceptance of Grant Awards to Duluth Public Schools, to accept and approve grant awards from the following organizations:

2.C. Access to Internet Student Data - Non-District Employees

It is requested that the following organization be granted access to the Student Information System to support District functions from July 1, 2012 to June 30, 2013:
