Ron Hagland, Supervisor of the Office of Education Equity, presented the 2011-12 Integration Budget and program design.  This presentation included an overview of the Parents and Students Succeeding Program (PASS), which is part of the current Integration Plan.
1.B. Market Research Proposal

Keith Dixon and Katie Kaufman presented a Market Research Proposal for the Duluth Public Schools.
1.C. Anti-Bullying Update

Keith Dixon provided an update on the anti-bullying training initiative that has been implemented in all Duluth Public Schools.

Keith Dixon provided and update on the Duluth Academy.

2.A. Grant Applications
2.A.1) Scott D. Anderson Leadership Foundation Fund of the Duluth-Superior Area Community Foundation Grant Application

Rory Johnson, Proctor Public Schools, has submitted a grant proposal in the amount of $16,000 to the Duluth-Superior Area Community Foundation for consideration of funding from the Scott D. Anderson Leadership Foundation Fund.  If the grant is awarded the Duluth Public Schools will serve as the fiscal agent and funds will be used to support the Ninth Annual Scott Anderson Leadership Forum this summer.

3.B. Resolution E-3-11-2860 - Acceptance of Grant Awards to Duluth Public Schools

Attached is Resolution E-3-11-2860 - Acceptance of Grant Awards to Duluth Public Schools, to accept and approve grant awards for the following organizations:

1.  Minnesota Department of Education - Revised SF11 State Head Start Grant
2.  Northland Foundation
3.C. Extended Trip Requests

The following extended trip requests are submitted for approval:

Two students from the Automotive Program at STC will travel to New York, New York to represent Minnesota in the National AYES Competition from April 24-27, 2011.  All costs associated with the trip will be funded through the Minnesota Auto Dealers Association.

Congdon Park's fourth grade students will be traveling on a class trip to Wolf Ridge Environmental Education Center in Finland, Minnesota from March 30-April 1, 2011.  They will participate in outdoor experiences that focus on ecology and science, human culture and history, and personal growth and group building.  The total cost of the trip is $17,000 and will be funded through the PTA, donations from the Congdon Park Foundation, student fees, and fundraising activities.

East High School's A'Cappella Choir will be traveling to Washington, D.C. from April 13-19, 2011.  They will be participating in a university clinic, performing, and visiting government buildings and the Smithsonian Institute.  The total cost of the trip is $45,430 and will be funded through boosters, donations, and student fees.
3.D. Access to Internet Student Data - Non-district Employees

It is recommended that the Human Development Center be granted access to the Student Information System to support District functions from July 1, 2010 to June 30, 2011.

This will allow specific people associated with the Human Development Center access to certain educational data maintained by the Duluth Public Schools.  The Superintendent will approve all individual access on a case-by-case basis.
