9.b. Approve 2022-2023 Employment Agreement - Catherine Schermeister, Assistant Speech Language Pathologist
Presenter:  Dr. Parks
Description:  Ms. Schermeister has completed her first year as our Speech Language Pathologist Assistant.  Her contract reflects a 3% annual increase, an adjustment from 8 hours daily to 7.25 hours daily, and an adjustment in work hours from 8 am -3:45 pm to 8:15 am to 4 pm.
9.c. Approve Overnight Field Trip Request - FFA, April 24-26
Presenter:  Dr. Parks
Description:  The FFA team will be attending the State convention.  Miss Anderson and two chaperones will supervise the 16 students during the State Convention in Minneapolis

9.d. Accept Resignation - Michael Weerts, Elementary Teacher
Presenter:  Dr. Parks
Description:  Dr. Weerts has been a part of the Nevis Team since 2016.  He has been actively pursuing administrative positions to take advantage of his educational leadership training.
He has accepted an administrative position in another district.  We wish him the best in his new position and thank him for his 6 years of service to our students.

9.e. Approve Probationary Period Extension - Kim Warne, Tier 3 Special Education Teacher
Presenter:  Dr. Parks
Description:  Ms. Warne has performed admirably as a Tier 3 teacher with Out-of-Field Permission as a Special Education teacher.  Ms. Warne has agreed to actively pursue a license as a Special Education teacher.  Ms. Warne may be granted a continuing contract for the 2023-2024 school year providing she continues to show progress toward achieving a Special Education teaching license.

9.f. Approve Resignation - Slade Kangas, Full-Time Substitute Teacher
Presenter:  Dr. Parks
Description:  Mr. Kangas has been our full-time sub for one year.  He has accepted a full time teaching position within his content area.  We wish him the best as he starts his career, and thank him for being a valuable member of our staff.

10.a. Approve Contract - Katie Buckholtz, 7-12 English Language Arts Teacher
Presenter:  Dr. Parks
Description:  Mrs. Buckholtz comes to us with over 18 years of teaching experience in English Language Arts.  We are looking forward to her being a part of the Tiger Team.

10.b. Approve Contract - Brian Michaelson, Principal
Presenter:  Dr. Parks
Description:  The negotiation team met with Mr. Michaelson.  The team agreed in principle to the following contract extension from 2022-2024:

1. 3% increase in SY 2023
2. 3% increase in SY 2024
3.  Adjust mileage reimbursement to 0.30 cents per mile
4.  Allow the principal to carry over one personal day each year
5.  Increase VEBA to the same as all bargaining units
6.  Increase $403b contribution by $600

10.c. Approve Continuing Contract  - Chris Boedigheimer, Art Teacher
Presenter:  Dr. Parks
Description:  Mr. Boedigheimer successfully completed three observations from his supervisor, Principal Michaelson.  He has been a great addition to our staff, and we appreciate the energy and passion for art which he shares with his students.
10.d. Approve Continuing Contract - Hannah DeLaHunt, Elementary Teacher
Presenter:  Dr. Parks
Description:  Miss DeLaHunt has completed three years of observations and evaluations from her supervisor, Mr. Michaelson.  She has grown immeasurably as a teacher and is on track to be a future master teacher.
10.e. Approve Continuing Contract - JoAnn Stute, 7-12 Special Education Teacher
Presenter:  Dr. Parks
Description:  Mrs. Stute has completed three years of observations from her supervisor, Principal Michaelson.  She is an incredible teacher with a strong track record of making positive relationships with kids.  Moreover, she has been able to continue to hold her students accountable for the rigors of classwork by keeping her standards high.
10.f. Approve Contract - Jessie Doty, Elementary Teacher
Presenter:  Dr. Parks
Description:  Miss Doty is a first-year teacher who impressed our interview team with her passion for education, insights into teaching reading and her empathy for her current students.  We are excited to have her begin her teaching career as a Nevis TIger.

Description:  Jordyn comes to us as a Mayville State Graduate with experience as a teacher and as a paraprofessional.

Presenter:  Dr. Parks
Description:  Mr. Buckholtz has agreed to be our Community Education Coordinator.  He will finish out the contract of Katie Rittgers for the 2022 school year.  We are glad to have you onboard Mel!
