Description:

1.  Face Coverings and Vaccines-Becker Public Schools will continue to follow all executive orders from the state and federal level.  At this time the only requirements in place for schools include, wearing face coverings on all public transportation, including school buses; and schools must report all known cases of COVID.
Outside of these two requirements, everything else is personal choice at this time.  Using multiple precautions is strongly recommended.  In our schools, some of these precautions may include:  social distancing, extra cleaning for high contact areas, optional face coverings, handwashing, sanitizers, etc.  We also will continue to send students/staff home who are sick, just like we always have.
Becker Public Schools will continue to strongly encourage all recommendations and guidance from MDH, CDC, and other professionals.
For more information, please see the 2021-22 Safe Return to In-Person Learning Plan on the Becker Public Schools Website.

2.  Delegate Assembly-The 2021 MSBA Delegate Assembly Meeting is scheduled for December 3rd and 4th.  The Delegate Assembly is where MSBA Legislative Policies are adopted at the Delegate Assmbly in December.  More information should be coming from MSBA.

3.  Fall Staff Development-Our back to school staff development is finalized for the week of August 30th.  It includes ALiCE Training, MTSS, PLC, Student Motivation, Special Education, and more.  School Board Members are invited to attend the breakfast on Tuesday (All Licensed Staff) or Thursday (All Staff) of that week to welcome them back to the new school year.

4.  MCA Results-August 27th will be the release of MCA Data from Pearson/MDE.  Once the results are released, we will analyze the data and share the results with the board.

5.  The September School Board Meeting is set for September 13th.  We will have a work session on August 18th.  If an election is approved for November, we will need to complete a resolution and vote prior to August 20th.

3.G. Designation of Identified Official with Authority (IOwA)
Description:
MDE requires annual school board action designating a district official to authorize user access to secure MDE websites.  These websites are routinely used by school staff to submit and access information.  Examples include:  Accountability Reports, Assessment Reports, Early Education Reports, and Finance Reports.  I recommend designating the superintendent as the Identified Official with Authority (IOwA) to authorize user access to MDE secure websites.
