9.A. Resolution to Declare Property Surplus and Authorize Quitclaim Deed

Description:
Lot 8, Block 25, Replat of S/2 of Blocks 24-28, Colonial Hill Addition to the City
of Snyder, Scurry County, Texas, per plat recorded at Volume A, page 145, Plat Records, Scurry County, Texas, also known as the Old Firehouse was deeded to SISD on May 16, 2014. Upon completion of a title run, we discovered that the deed contains language saying that the Property was granted to the District for so long as the District used the Property for providing educational services that benefit the citizens of the City and that if the District stops using the Property for that purpose, the Property reverts to the City. After a meeting with the City Manager, the City has decided that it would like to have the property back. This resolution declares the property surplus, and authorizes the Board President to execute a Quit Claim Deed to the City of Snyder.

Description:
Since Scurry CAD only had four nominees, please include "2024 Scurry CAD Board Vacancy Nominations" on your next agenda for the voting jurisdictions. Please submit any nominations as board action by February 15. Consider this email official notification of the request for a Scurry CAD board nominee. The appraisal district directors shall elect by majority vote of its members one of the nominees to fill the vacancy after the 45-day time frame.

After adopting board policiesTASB contacted me to advise that the adoptions triggered a need to revise CKED (Local) and DH (Local), all relating to the carrying of firearms.
Additionally, the revised Board Policy BF (Local) was presented as DF (Local) due to a typo, and will need to be adopted again. All policies with markup have been attached.
