1.A.1) Why We Play Presentation

East Activity Director, Shawn Roed, and Denfeld Activity Director, Tom Pearson, shared information on the "Why We Play" initiative, which was launched by the Minnesota State High School League in order for coaches, players, and parents to remember the true reason behind high school athletics.
1.A.2) High School Course/Program Offerings for the 2015-16 School Year
High School Principals, Laurie Knapp and Tonya Sconiers, highlighted the courses and programs being offered at Denfeld and East High Schools for the 2015-16 School Year.
1.A.3) 2015 ACT Assessment Results

Dr. Tawnyea Lake, Director of Assessment and Evaluation, shared the results of two 2015 ACT Tests, which were released by the Minnesota Department of Education on August 26, 2015.  The first results represent the 2015 graduating class and the second results represent the 2015 eleventh grade students who tested during the first statewide administration of the ACT last April.
1.A.4) 2015 Multiple Measurement Ratings and Focus Ratings

Dr. Tawnyea Lake, Director of Assessment and Evaluation, shared the 2015 Multiple Measurement Ratings and Focus Ratings, which were released September 1, 2015 by the Minnesota Department of Education.
1.B. Grant Applications

Victoria Sundell, Early Childhood Special Education (ECSE) School Social Worker, has applied for a grant from the Northland Foundation in the amount of $1,060.  If awarded, this grant will help sustain a parent support group that ECSE and Early Childhood Family Education (ECFE) have been collaboratively running for the past four years.

It is requested that the following organizations be granted access to the Student Information System to support District functions from July 1, 2015 to June 30, 2016:

2.B. Resolution E-9-15-3297 - Acceptance of Grant Awards to Duluth Public Schools

Attached is Resolution E-9-15-3297 - Acceptance of Grant Awards to Duluth Public Schools, to accept and approve the grant award from the following organization:

Northland Foundation
2.C. Policy 6140.10 - Co-Curricular Activities Participation Fees

Attached are recommended revisions to Policy 6140.10 - Co-Curricular Activities Participation Fees as a result of the addition of Lacrosse becoming a Duluth Public Schools varsity sport.  Shawn Roed, East Activity Director, and Tom Pearson, Denfeld Activity Director, were available to answer any questions.
2.D. Diploma Requests

The following students have met all graduation requirements for the Duluth Public Schools and should be awarded a Diploma:
