1. Congratulations to our Teacher of the Year (Leaders in Educational Excellence Educator) award winners:
Corrie Weichmann-Primary School
Jill Johnson-Intermediate School
Jen Panek-Middle School
Matt Eigen-High School
These staff members were recognized at an award ceremony sponsored by Resource Training and Solutions that took place in St. Cloud on Wednesday, October 25.  

2.  Congratulations also to our Support Staff who won the Leadership in Educational Excellence Award.  The following will be recognized at a regional meeting sponsored by Resource Training and Solutions on Wednesday, November 15th.

3. On Friday, November 10, each building will be holding a Veterans Day ceremony.  The Robotics team will begin the day in the High School Commons at 7:30 with breakfast for all Veterans. The High School program will be held from 8:15-8:45, the Middle School program will be 8:55-9:25, the Primary School program will be held 9:40-10:00 and the Intermediate School program will be 10:05-10:25.
We will also raise new flags at our transportation building at noon, all Veterans and Public Service Workers (police, firefighters, etc.) are welcome.
It will be a great opportunity to hear the history of Veterans Day and honor those who are serving or have served our great country.  

4.  MSBA Leadership Conference on January 11-12, 2024.  It will take place in person at the Minneapolis Convention Center.  Please let me or Angela know if you are interested in going so we can get everyone registered. 

5. The MSBA Pre-Delegate Assembly (virtual) will take place on November 14, 15, 16 from 6:30-8:00 pm or 18 from 9:00-10:30 am . To register, please let Angel know.

6. The Student School Board Members and I attended a training session in Shakopee on October 24. Presenters included MSBA staff, Shakopee student representatives and Braver Angels Co-Founder Bill Doherty.

7. Grants-Becker Public Schools has submitted an application for the Farm to School Grant. We have been awarded the grant in the past and it allows us to partner with local farmers to provide food to our students. We have also been awarded The U.S. Department of Justice, Office of Community Oriented Policing Services, School Violence and Prevention Program Grant in collaboration with Monticello and Big Lake School District. 8. The District Curriculum Review Parent/Community Information Session for K-5 ELA and K-5 Health will be on Thursday, November 9, 2023 from 6:00-7:00 pm.

Description:
 I recommend approving the personnel items as presented.

3.E. Resolution Establishing Combined Polling Places
Description:
This resolution in accordance with §205A.11, Subd. 2 must be adopted by December 31 of each year, and the combined polling places specified shall be the combined polling places for the following calendar year.
I recommend Becker Community Center, 11500 Sherburne Avenue SE, Becker, MN 55308 as the combined polling place for 2024.

4. GIFTS
Description:
Policy 706 Acceptance of Gifts permits the school board to accept donations or gifts under the terms of the policy.  I recommend accepting the gifts as described in the enclosure.  Thank you to those who have donated to our schools and students.

Description:
The Policy Committee has requested a First Reading on the following policies:
