2.A.1) No Child Left Behind (NCLB) Consolidated Programs

An application was submitted by MaryAnn Rotondi, outgoing LEA, on June 30, 2011 to the Minnesota Department of Education requesting allocations for Title I, Part A for students who are one or more years behind in Math and/or Reading, Title I, Part D for neglected and delinquent students, and Title II for professional development. The amounts are as follows:

Title I, Part A - $2,958,708.80
Title I, Part D - $265,818.62
Title II - $596,904.41

3.A.1) Lake Superior Swim Club Formal Proposal and Presentation

Members of the Lake Superior Swim Club submitted a formal proposal to partner with the Duluth Public Schools in becoming the facilitators for the new middle school aquatic facilities. Their vision goes beyond competitive swimming. It is their desire to bring the community together and give equal access to aquatics to all.

3.B. Resolution E-7-11-2912 - Acceptance of Grant Awards to Duluth Public Schools

Attached is Resolution E-7-11-2912 - Acceptance of Grant Awards to Duluth Public Schools, to accept and approve grant awards for the following organization:

3.C. Access to Internet Student Data - Non-District Employees

It is requested that the following organizations be granted access to the Student Information System to support District functions from July 1, 2011 to June 30, 2012:

3.D. New Policy 5093 Restrictive Procedures Plan

Bill Gronseth and Laura Fredrickson presented the recommended new Policy 5093 Restrictive Procedures Plan for the first reading.

3.E. Policy 6140.10 Co-Curricular Activities Participation Fees

Bill Gronseth presented recommended revisions to Policy 6140.10 Co-Curricular Activities Participation Fees, which reflect an increase in participation fees, effective August 1, 2011 for the first reading.

3.F. Policy 5085 - Student Discipline Policy

Bill Gronseth presented recommended revisions to Policy 5085 - Student Discipline Policy for the second reading.

3.G. New Policy 5090 - Use of Cell Phones, Digital Imaging Devices, and Other Personal Electronic Devices
