Bill Gronseth, Assistant Superintendent, and Terri Huttel, Curriculum Coordinator, presented a summary of three options being proposed for middle school programing/curriculum for the 2011-12 school year. The District is recommending Option B for Board approval. |

Attached is Resolution E-12-10-2837- Acceptance of Grant Awards to Duluth Public Schools, to accept and approve grant awards for the following organizations: Northland Foundation Minnesota Department of Education |

Attached for the second reading are revisions to Policy 6160 - Field Trips. |

3.D. ISD 709 Calendar 2011-12 School Year
Bill Gronseth, Assistant Superintendent, presented the recommended ISD 709 Calendar 2011-12 School Year for review and approval, which was reviewed and approved by the Quality Steering Committee in December. |

3.E. Extended Trip Requests
The following extended trip request is submitted for approval: Nettleton's fifth grade students will travel to Deep Portage Environmental Center in Hackensack, Minnesota January 12-14, 2011. The total cost of the trip is $8,559 and will be funded through fund raising activities, donations, and grant dollars. |

The following students have completed all high school requirements and should be awarded a diploma: Wesley C. Davis - August 6, 2010 Brittany M. Westfall - July 29, 2010 Anthony Roger Prout - October 19, 2010 Cody M. Chartier - October 1, 2010 |
