Dance Company at Davis High is a pre-professional artistic dance company that explores movement and choreography. The dancers interact with university dance programs and professional companies throughout Utah. Many dancers from the DHS Dance Company have received dance scholarships and have gone on to pursue dance. Dance Company dancers learn to create dance pieces and become more effective artists as they train and perform. Student choreographers are able to receive adjudication each year at the UDEO High School Dance Festival as well as the Davis Choreographic Fest (created and hosted by DHS Dance Co). We have many amazing opportunities throughout the year to learn choreography from professional dancers at Ballet West, Ririe Woodbury Dance Company, Repertory Dance Theater, and SALT Contemporary Dance. Our highlight every year is our spring concert. Last spring we did a concert dedicated to the life and legacy of Frida Kahlo. Dancers were able to create works based on the famous paintings of Frida Kahlo. We are so grateful to have a space and a platform at Davis where we can learn and grow within our art and share that light with others.
