4.A. Angela Wharton, Lakeview Elementary School - WSD First Year Teacher Award

Description:
Angela was nominated by Lakeview Elementary Principal Spencer Okey. Angela teaches 2nd grade at Lakeview Elementary and her skills are described as if she has been teaching for many years.  She has an acute awareness of her students' needs and what strategies best address those needs.  She is encouraging as she works with students and creates a positive culture in her classroom and implements the 7 Habits of Leader in Me in her classroom.  Mr. Okey noted the enthusiasm for learning in Mrs. Wharton's classroom is through the roof!

Description:
Mandy Curtis was nominated by T.H. Bell Jr. High Principal Lenn Ward.  Mandy is described as a natural teacher who can and does reach every student in her classroom.  She uses her time wisely and has her lessons so well prepared and is student ready at the start of each class.  She is always cheerful, passionate, and kind and her students know she is there for them.  Mr. Ward noted Mandy is an ambassador for the teaching profession.

4.C. Hanna Jarman, Wahlquist Jr. High School - WSD First Year Teacher Award

Description:
Hanna Jarman was nominated by Wahlquist Jr. High Principal Scott Elliott.  It was noted how Hanna started teaching half way into the school year and how she swooped in and took the special students under her wings.  She created routines to help students achieve both academically as well as socially.  She is so kind yet has high expectations from all of her students. Mr Elliott stated he has never witnessed a new teacher take over a class and totally flip it to the positive.  She is amazing!

Description:
Peggy Isaac-Marsh was nominated by co-worker Patrick Huxley.  Peggy's many hats include trainer, trouble-shooter, technical advisor, program inspector and de-bugger, analyzer, counselor, decision maker and many more.  She is described as a ferocious multi-tasker, dedicated, has a positive attitude, patient and professional with everyone.  She is a great asset to Weber School District and the Technical Department.

4.E. Mark Womack, T. H. Bell Jr. High School - WSD Teacher of the Year 2022

Description:
Mark Womack was nominated by T. H. Bell Jr. High Principal Lenn Ward.  Mark teaches social studies and TAP.  Mark's students develop a love for the teaching field because of the master teacher he has become.  He is also the athletic director, student government advisor and department chairperson.  He is a leader among his peers.  He greets each student at the door every day and works hard to develop relationships with his students.  Mark truly embodies the qualities of what it means to be an educator that cares for the whole child.
