Description:
Several emails came out from MSBA last week regarding board approved operating levies. Chuck and I reviewed the email and communicated with MDE officials regarding this for clarification. The short answer to this question is that we do not have to take any additional board action regarding this matter. After the $424 Location Equity Revenue was implemented, Belle Plaine did not have any approved referendum authority available. The board approved referendum authority was therefore not a conversion of a previously approved voter referendum.
I will try to answer any additional questions regarding this at the meeting. |

3. Technology Personal Growth Opportunities for Teachers:

Description:
As administrators, we have identified five key areas that we are asking our teachers to gain proficiency in regarding delivery of instructional services through technology. We have created a draft document that lays out the standards necessary for teachers to achieve bronze, silver or gold status in each area (I have attached for your review).
I would like to discuss this set of standards with you and propose that we allow completion of a gold level in each area to qualify for 1 credit to be used for possible lane change in the future. |

4. Review of Student Handbooks for 2014-15:

Description:
I have attached copies of the student handbooks from each of the buildings for your review. There are minimal changes in all of the handbooks with date changes and new personnel changes being the most prevalent. I will ask the board for approval of these handbooks at our regular August meeting.

5. Policy Review:

Description:
We will be reviewing policy once again starting with policies that have had revisions after they were last approved by the school board. Up for review this time are: 101 - Legal Status of School District; 202 - School Board Officers; 206 - Public Participation in School Board Meetings/Complaints About Persons at School Board Meetings & Data Privacy Considerations; 406 - Public & Private Personnel Data; 414 - Mandated Reporting of Child Neglect or Physical or Sexual Abuse. There are minor changes to each of these policies. Upon review, they will be recommended for revision at our August 25th meeting.
