VI. Annual Safety Update / Drill Debrief
Description:
Estimated Time to Present: 20 Minutes
The Wausau School District is implementing a comprehensive safety program provided by the "I Love U Guys" Standard Response Protocol (SRP), a uniform system that uses standardized vocabulary (HOLD, SECURE, LOCKDOWN, EVACUATE, SHELTER) to ensure a consistent, practiced response across the educational and community environment, including students, staff, and first responders. The district school security highlights include secure building entrances, the Visitor Aware System, security cameras, and locked exterior doors. The WSD actively conducts district-wide safety drills, such as the LOCKDOWN drill in September and EVACUATION drills in October, and maintains a strong partnership with the Wausau Police Department, especially with our School Resource Officers.
