Description:
If desired, items may be removed from the consent agenda by request by an individual school board member for independent consideration.  A request is timely if made prior to the vote on the consent agenda.  The request does not require a second or a vote by the school board.  An item removed from the consent agenda will then be discussed and acted on separately immediately following the consideration of the consent agenda.

Description:
The attached policies were reviewed by the policy committee and were presented for a first reading on February 24.  They are being presented again for a second reading and consideration for approval. Also attached is the policy revisions summary.

Note: four policies were added since the first reading for consideration of approval. Due to legal changes over which the Board has no control, or minor/insignificant changes, they may be approved at the March 24 meeting.

Description:
Attached is the draft of the resolution for the general obligation facilities maintenance and school building bonds as referred to by Matt Hammer from Ehlers at the February 24, 2025 school board meeting.

Description:
The 2024-2025 amended budget was presented at the March 10, 2025 school board work session. Attached is the 2024-2025 summary of the amended budget being considered for approval.

X.D. Resolution Relating to the Termination and Non-Renewal of the Teaching Contract of Probationary Teachers (High Quality Teaching and Learning)
Description:
Attached is a resolution relating to the termination and non-renewal of the teaching contract of probationary teachers. This action is necessary due to financial limitations, curtailment of programs, decreased student enrollment, return from leave of senior teachers, and/or teacher performance.  Your approval is requested for the resolution for the teachers listed in Attachment A.

X.E. Revised 2025-2026 School Calendar (High Quality Teaching & Learning)
Description:
The 2025-2026 school calendar was approved by the Board in March 2024. The school calendar establishes student days, workshop days for staff, provides for emergency closings and other information related to students, staff, and parents.  

Two new dates are being proposed for staff development: October 20 and February 16.

Attached is the proposed revised 2025-2026 school year calendar the Board is being asked to consider for approval.

X.F. McKinley Elementary Ventilation Improvements (Safe and Caring Community)
Description:
Bids were received for the McKinley Elementary ventilation improvements project. All bids were reviewed by SiteLogiQ as detailed in the attached letter.

It is being recommended that the Board consider for approval the contractors as listed in the attached letter for a total award amount of $1,312,945 for the McKinley Elementary ventilation improvement project.

Description:
Bids were received for the Owatonna Education Center ventilation improvements project. All bids were reviewed by SiteLogiQ as detailed in the attached letter.

It is being recommended that the Board consider for approval the contractors as listed in the attached letter for a total award amount of $2,452,945 for the Owatonna Education Center ventilation improvement project.

X.H. Gifts to the District
Description:

Policy 706 establishes guidelines for the acceptance of gifts to the District.  As specified by Minnesota Statute 465.03, the School Board may accept a gift, grant, or property only by the adoption of a resolution approved by two-thirds of its members. Any gifts accepted of more than nominal value (more than $5), shall become property of the District (Policy 421).

The gifts are listed on the attached resolution.
