The board will be asked to approve the October 23, 2024 special board meeting agenda. 

The Board of Directors of the Kansas Association of School Boards will be asked to authorize Dr. Brian Jordan to execute documents and take such acts necessary to complete the purchase of the office building and associated grounds located at 6342 SW 21st Street, Topeka, Kansas, 66615, consisting of approximately 17,260 square feet of building on approximately 3.2 acres of land. Such property will be purchased from Famous Holdings LLC for $1,620,000 plus any associated closing costs and related fees as agreed in writing between the parties to the sale.

The Board of Directors of the Kansas Association of School Boards will be asked to authorize Dr. Brian Jordan and/or his designees to enter contracts and make expenditures necessary to construct, reconstruct, and renovate the building spaces and grounds of the newly purchased property, to furnish the facility, and to upgrade the technology and equipment therein to meet KASB needs. Such expenditures shall not exceed $300,000. If expenditures of this nature are required in excess of this amount, and Dr. Jordan does not have Board policy authority to incur such expenses, Dr. Jordan will seek the approval of the Executive Committee of the Board for an increase in this budget before incurring said expenses.
