3.A. Discuss and Consider Action for the GHS Cheerleading Team to travel out of state to compete at the National High School Cheerleading Championship (NHSCC) in Orlando, Florida
Presenter:
Danielle Glass, GHS Cheer Sponsor; Karen Perez, GHS Principal
Description:
This prestigious event, recognized by the Universal Cheerleaders Association (UCA), is considered the most competitive and respected cheerleading competition for high school teams across the nation.
Participation in this championship provides our student-athletes with an invaluable opportunity for personal growth, school representation, and athletic excellence. The GHS Cheerleading Team has demonstrated exceptional commitment, discipline, and sportsmanship throughout the season, earning the qualifications necessary to compete on a national stage. Attending the NHSCC not only recognizes their hard work and dedication but also allows them to showcase GHS pride among top-performing teams from across the country.
This experience promotes:
  • Leadership and teamwork skills through collaboration in a high-pressure, goal-oriented environment.
  • School and community pride, as GHS will be represented on a national platform.
  • Educational enrichment, as travel provides exposure to diverse teams, cultures, and experiences beyond our local region.
  • Character development, as students learn resilience, time management, and perseverance through competition and travel.
All travel, lodging, and meal plans will be carefully organized under the supervision of GHS coaches and chaperones, in accordance with district safety and travel policies. Fundraising efforts will help offset costs, ensuring equitable participation for all team members.

The GHS Cheerleading Team’s participation at the NHSCC will be a milestone achievement, enhancing not only the athletic program but also the reputation of GHS as a school committed to excellence, teamwork, and student success.
