Description:
OPEN MEETING RULE (Texas Government code 551.001 et seq.) “Any action taken by a governmental body at a meeting on a subject which was not stated on the agenda in the notice posted for such meeting can be made void. The requirement for notice prescribed by this section does not apply to matters about which specific factual information or a recitation of existing policy is furnished in response to an inquiry made at such meeting, whether such inquiry is made by a member of the general public or by a member of the governmental body. Any deliberation, discussion, or decision, with respect to the subject about which inquiry was made shall be limited to a proposal to place such subject on the agenda for a subsequent meeting of such governmental body for which notice has been provided in compliance with the Act.” In compliance with Section 504 of the Rehabilitation Act of 1973, the Denton ISD will provide a sign language interpreter for the hearing impaired if requested at least 48 hours in advance of the scheduled meeting. Please call the Superintendent’s Office at 369-0002 or use TTY at 369-4075 to schedule an interpreter. The DISD assembly room is accessible in accordance with the Americans with Disabilities Act. The Board requests citizens attending public meetings observe appropriate rules of decorum. Therefore, please refrain from private conversations while the Board is in session, and from expressing your agreement or disagreement with a speaker by applause or other forms of demonstration. No signs, placards, or other audio or visual props will be allowed in the Boardroom.
