The 2025-2026 District Improvement Plan has been updated and aligns with the 3-year Strategic Plan. The District Education Improvement Committee (DEIC) has reviewed the plan.

The Superintendent recommends approval of the 2025-2026 District Improvement Plan, as recommended.

8.B. HB 3033 - Designation of Non-Business Days

Description: 

HB 3033 more narrowly defines "business days." Under the revised statute, the only days that do not count as business days concerning public information requests are the following:

·      Weekends - Saturday or Sunday;

·      National Holidays - New Year’s Day (Jan 1), Martin Luther King, Jr., Day (Jan 19), President’s Day (Feb 16), Memorial Day (May 25), Independence Day (July 4), Labor Day Sept. 1), Veterans Day (Nov. 11), Thanksgiving Day (Nov. 27), and Christmas Day (Dec. 25);

·      State Holidays - Confederate Heroes Day (Jan 19), Texas Independence Day (March 2), San Jacinto Day (April 21), Emancipation Day (June 19), Lyndon B. Johnson Day (Aug 27);  

·      The Friday before or the Monday after a holiday described above if the holiday occurs on a Saturday or Sunday and the governmental body observes the holiday on that Friday or Monday; and  

·      The statute permits the Board of Trustees to designate up to 10 additional days each calendar year when the district’s administrative offices are closed or operating with minimal staff that may be used in calculating deadlines.
 

Designated Public Information Request Non-Business days for the 2025-2026 school year include:

December 22, 23, 29, 30

March 17, 18, 19

The Superintendent recommends approval of the Designated Non-Business days, as presented.

We are working with TEA through school improvement monitoring for the Intermediate and Junior High campuses. We are required to submit a Turnaround Plan (TAP) and a Targeted Improvement Plan (TIP) to TEA in November. We will present the plans for board approval at the October board meeting.

Description:
With the growth of our programs, sports, UIL, and other extracurricular programs, we are looking to add a 14-passenger activity bus to our fleet. Would also be utilized for staff bussing. 

The Operations Department receives quotes for buses and other fleet vehicles from multiple vendors through multiple purchasing cooperatives. 

We plan to gather quotes and request purchase approval at the October meeting.
