Description:
Every three years, the District is required to conduct a comprehensive safety audit and provide the results to the Texas School Safety Center. The district participates in the ESC 9 Safety Cooperative. As such, ESC 9 will conduct the review of facilities, etc. The superintendent or designee is required to complete the District Audit Reporting tool (/DARtool).

The DARtool will allow districts to submit audit findings to the TxSSC as required by Texas Education Code, 37.108(c).
The DARtool will consist of up to 74 questions pertaining to your district’s safety and security audit(s). The questions will be divided into the following eight sections:
  1. District Demographics
  2. Safety and Security Audit Information
  3. School Safety and Security Committee
  4. Emergency Management Information
  5. Behavioral Threat Assessment, Suicide Prevention, and Trauma-Informed Care Information
  6. Bullying Prevention Policies and Procedures
  7. Active Threat Exercise
  8. Additional Safety and Security Information
The deadline for submission of audit findings is September 15, 2023.
