1.C.2.a. Director Dave Valenzuela requests board approval for Manzanita and Evergreen Elementary Schools to be part of a Science, Technology, Engineering and Math (STEM) Connection grant that is being pursued by the Business Education Compact (BEC).  This grant would provide opportunities for schools to partner with local business, industry and community organizations in an effort to connect math and science concepts to real-world projects and lessons.
1.C.2.b. District Accountant Lisa Cross requests approval to submit the Facility Grant application to the Oregon Department of Education.  ODE has an annual grant for newly constructed buildings, major remodels, and portable buildings that have not been in use as classrooms for the previous 5 years.  One of the three portables moved to Madrona would quality under this grant.  This grant could provide up to $5,000 for equipment and furniture for Madrona Elementary.
1.C.2.c. Director Dave Valenzuela requests board approval for Three RIvers School District to participate in a regional grant through SOESD.  The Oregon Minority Educator Pipeline Models Grant enables stakeholders to collaborate and expand models for recruiting and retaining educators who are culturally and/or linguistically diverse.
1.C.2.d. Hidden Valley HS Principal Daye Stone requests permission to accept grant funds from the Oregon CTE Student Leadership Foundation in the amount of $1,600 for their FFA program. 
1.C.3. Out-of-State Travel Request(s)
1.C.3.a. Director Dave Valenzuela requests approval for out-of-state travel.  This travel will be at little or no cost to the district.  Casey Alderson and Jessica Durrant to attend a Mathematical Summit in Palm Dessert California on February 26-28.  Dave Valenzuela and Kirsten Valenzuela to attend a Literacy Summit in Boston Massachusetts on March 19-21.  These summits are being offered to Three Rivers School District at no cost by Scholastic, a publishing company that we utilize in many different ways throughout the district.
1.C.3.b. Hidden Valley Athletic Director Jamie Ongman requests arrpoval for Hidden Valley football coaches Jacob Schauffler and James Powers along with an additional two to three coaches to travel to Reno, Nevada to a Glazier Football Coaching Clinic March 7-9, 2014.  Registration costs and travel expenses will be covered by HV District Athletics.
