Board Minute Language - For the 2023–2024 school year, we delegate contractual authority to obligate the school district under Texas Education Code (TEC) §11.1511(c)(4) to the superintendent, solely for the purpose of obligating the district under TEC, §48.257 and TEC, Chapter 49, Subchapters A and D, and the rules adopted by the commissioner of education as authorized under TEC, 49.006. This included approval of the Agreement for the Purchase of Attendance Credit or the Agreement for the Purchase of Attendance Credit (Netting Chapter 8
Funding).
7.F. Consider and Approve the Minutes of the Regular Board Meeting of the Board of Trustees of Leakey ISD that was held on Monday, June 26, 2023.

11.F.5. Presentation of the 2023 Preliminary FIRST (Financial Integrity Rating System of Texas) based on school year 2021-2022 data. LISD's rating for that year is a C= Meets Standard Achievement. The score would have been a 100, for a rating of A= Superior Achievement as in all previous years; however, the auditor's identified a material weakness (indicator question #17) relative to federal funds. Question #17 is a "ceiling indicator" which means if failed, the highest a district can score is 79. It was failed because the items (buses & technology) that were purchsed with ESSER funds were not identified correctly on an inventory sheet readily available at the time of audit. The issue has since been corrected.
