Description:

Description:

IV.A.2. Quarterly Investment Report
Description:
Chapter 2256, Government Code Public Funds Investment Act requires the district to provide a written investment report. 
The report contains operating funds not required by the code at the request of the school board.  The district maintains three investment pool accounts with nominal funds as a reference for comparisons only (Lone Star, Texas Class, and TexPool). The district places funds in investment accounts to assure safety and liquidity first and maximized yield next.

Description:
The quarterly Permanent School Fund Report is on the agenda calendar for November. A report is provided according to the information received from Rains County Treasurer, Jennifer Trevino.

Description:

V.B. Canvass November 4, 2025, Special Election Results - VATRE 
Description:
The canvass may be conducted at the meeting following the election, depending on the election and our meeting dates. The Office of the Secretary of State has set a window of opportunity in which a Board may conduct a canvass. This year, the dates are:
  • Friday, November 7, 2025 through Monday, November 17, 2025
If a special meeting is required, two members constitute a quorum, for an election canvass only.

V.E. Rains County Appraisal District — Board of Directors Election
Description:
At the September 8, 2025, Board Meeting, nominations were made for the Rains County Appraisal District Board of Directors. The nomination made by our Board was for: 
  • Candice West
In complying with the rules of the Property Tax Code, each voting unit must in an open meeting, report its vote by written resolution, and submit it to the Chief Appraiser by December 15, 2025. 

Rains ISD has 2,401 votes based on the total levy.  The candidates receiving the five highest cumulative numbers of votes will be elected.
