Description:
This policy is based on SB 1329, which requires that healthcare providers have parental consent before providing any health service to a minor. This is a required policy.

V.B.1.b. 3500F Notice of Health Services - (New Form) 
Description:
Prompted by SB 1329, this expanded the types of student health services for which districts must have parent consent doing so allows this form to be used to obtain prior parent consent to routine medical services, such as first aid or preventative health screenings. This is a required form.

V.B.1.c. 3540 Emergency Treatment (Revise) 
Description:
This update also addresses the changes related to parent consent to health services provided to students. It states that parents must return a form indicating which services they consent to and describes circumstances in which emergency treatment may be provided to students without parental consent. It also revises language related to seeking emergency medical care to more clearly align it with our current practice of recommending staff not be alone with students or transport them in personal vehicles.

Description:
This update was prompted by HB 645 which changed vacancies after recall elections to say that the vacancy exists upon certification of the election by the board or county commissioners. It also adds a cross reference to how trustees subject to recall are limited in their voting abilities from election day to the certification of the election. This is described in more detail in 1500P.

Description:
SB 1361a requires school boards to adopt rules of order that govern their meetings, including for offering in-person public comment during regular meetings. A Board Operating Protocol is a required document.

This update was prompted by SB 1361a, which requires school districts to allow in-person public comment on agenda items prior to taking final action. This pairs with your board operating protocol and your procedure in 1500.

VIII.D.1.g. 5470 Leaves of Absence - Military Leave (Revise) 
Description:
These changes are largely based on HB 580. This bill extends rights related to military leave from work to members of state militias. These rights include the right to take military leave - including up to ten days of paid leave - for certain military-related activities, the right to reinstatement upon their return, and the right to use vacation or similar leave concurrently with unpaid military leave.
