Rationale:

Members of the Killingly community are encouraged to share their thoughts with the Board of Education and are invited to do so during this segment of the meeting. When appropriate to do so, members of the Board and the administration may respond to comments. However, in consideration of those in attendance and in an effort to proceed in a timely manner, follow-up discussion may need to take place outside of the meeting setting.

Rationale:
The Superintendent will share information from around the district for the preparation and opening of our schools.

Rationale:
The Superintendent will summarize the current state of the district budget and share any pertinent information that should be brought to the attention of the Board of Education and the public.

Rationale:
The Superintendent will report on the initial enrollments for the opening of school and will highlight information such as class sizes and special education numbers.

7.D. Review of Student Handbooks
Rationale:

All student-parent handbooks can be seen on each schools website homepage by going to "Parents" in the upper navigation bar OR by clicking on the "Quicklink" on the left  side of each school's home page.  The Superintendent will provide a "highlights" document from each school regarding the work of editing the handbooks.  These documents will be forwarded to the Board as soon as they are available, both here and under separate cover.

Rationale:

The Assistant Superintendent, Mr. Steven Rioux, will share the recently released information regarding the achievement data in our district as well as results from local assessments and indicators for 2014-15.

A brief outline of graduation rates, attendance, reading, math, and science results will be shown.  We anticipate only showing 12-15 slides and not the entire 55 page document. Steve will be prepared to show a particular page if a question should come up.
