Rationale:

Members of the Killingly community are encouraged to share their thoughts with the Board of Education and are invited to do so during this segment of the meeting. When appropriate to do so, members of the Board and the administration may respond to comments. However, in consideration of those in attendance and in an effort to proceed in a timely manner, follow-up discussion may need to take place outside of the meeting setting.

5.B. Recognition of the 2014 CAPSS/Superintendent's Student Award Recipients
Rationale:
A Recognition Ceremony was hosted by Killingly on November 17th with representation from 12 surrounding towns and their Superintendents. A total of 54 students were recognized for receiving this prestigious award.
Killingly Students who won this years award were:
From KCS, two fourth grade students; Natalia Choruzek and Braden Pedersen
From KMS- two fourth grade students Austin Devolve and Salena Thongsouvanh
From KIS- Prachi Patel and Derek Turner (Grade 8)
From KHS- Jessica Perreault and Aexander Stringer (seniors)


These students are recognize for demonstrating academic success, school leadership and services to others.
Each district is allowed to present one award for every 250 students enrolled in the district. The goal for this award is to focus on students whose accomplishments and activities go far beyond academic success and include service and leadership, making them role models for other students.
