Members of the Killingly community are encouraged to share their thoughts with the Board of Education and are invited to do so during this segment of the meeting. When appropriate to do so, members of the Board and the administration may respond to comments. However, in consideration of those in attendance and in an effort to proceed in a timely manner, follow-up discussion may need to take place outside of the meeting setting.

To authorize the administration of the Killingly Public Schools to pursue an application for a grant from the Connecticut Department of Emergency Management and Homeland Security under its “School Security Competitive Grant” program.

4.B. Technology Investments to Implement Common Core State Standards and Administer Common Core aligned Assessments Grant
Rationale:
To authorize the administration of the Killingly Public Schools to pursue an application for a grant from the Academic Office; Bureau of Student Assessment of the Connecticut State Department of Education under its program of “Technology Investments to Implement Common Core State Standards and Administer Common Core aligned Assessments, Specifically Smarter Balanced Assessments.”

Rationale:
To authorize the Killingly Public Schools to pursue an application for a grant from the State of Connecticut Office of Policy and Management Juvenile Justice Advisory Committee under its program of “School-Police-Community Collaboration for School Safety through Consistent and Appropriate Handling of Disruptive Behavior in School”

Rationale:
To authorize the Killingly Public Schools to pursue an application for a grant from the Bureau of Health / Nutrition, Family Services and Adult Education of the Connecticut State Department of Education under its After-School Grant program, to implement a program entitled “More SCORE”.
