Rationale:
Superintendent recommends that the Killingly BOE return the original portion of the building at 369 Main St. that served as the central office to the Town of Killingly.  We further recommend that the rear portion of the building be retained by the Killingly Public Schools for storage per the request of the Operations and Maintenance Director.

Rationale:
During the 2012-2013 school year, three new courses have been piloted at Killingly High School; Technology Internship/Genyes, Biotechnology and PE Fit. Each of these classes have been very successful in their pilot year, and include specific content standards, as well as CCSS Literacy Standards for Science and Technical Subject areas. The Curriculum Committee reviewed each curriculum and spoke with the three teachers that developed the courses at heir last meeting held on May 8th. At this meeting the Committee unanimously voted to recommend that the BOE approve each curriculum.

8.C. FFA Officer Retreat and Field Trip in Massachusetts

Rationale:
Request is from Ken Couture and Beth Knowlton to attend the FFA Officer Retreat in Gill Massachusetts on August 22-23. The FFA Retreat promotes leadership and fellowship. This is an excellent opportunity for the FFA Officer Team training and chapter planning for the upcoming school year. In addition to supporting curricular goals , this trip is an outstanding enrichment opportunity for  6 students,  with Officer Training, planning sessions and a low risk inflatable kayak trip.

8.D. Technology Student Association Field Trip

Rationale:
 June 28th through July2nd, Killingly's Technology Student Association Chapter (4 students) has the opportunity to be involved in a premier educational event. the National TSA conference. STEM-based competitions will be offered along with Robotics Competition, Leadership Training, Awards and Recognitions.
