When appropriate to do so, members of the Board and the administration may respond to comments. However, in consideration of those in attendance and in an effort to proceed in a timely manner, follow-up discussion may need to take place outside of the meeting setting.

Rationale:
When Connecticut was granted a flexibility waiver from the US Dept of Education last spring, it enabled the State Dept of Ed to implement a new accountability system that replaces adequate yearly progress (AYP). Mr. McNamara will facilitate a presentation on the new accountability system.

Rationale:
Colin McNamara will share the District Improvement Plan for the 2012 - 2013 school year. Slight revisions were made to the three year plan to reflect the work that is being done to align district curriculum with the Common Core State Standards, and have the identified SMART Goals align with the new state accountability system.
