Notice is hereby given of the Annual Budget Meeting and Vote for the Regional School District No. 18 to be held at Regional School District No. 18, Board of Education Conference Room at Center School, 49 Lyme Street, Old Lyme, Connecticut at 6:30 p.m. on Monday, May 6, 2024 to act upon the following:

1. To adopt a budget of $36,920,881 for the fiscal year beginning July 1, 2024 through June 30, 2025 as recommended by the Regional School Board.

 

2. To conduct such other business as may properly come before the meeting.

By vote of the Regional School District No. 18 Board of Education, the vote on item number 1 shall be by check off and paper ballots in the Towns of Lyme and Old Lyme on May 7, 2024 between the hours of 12:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. pursuant to Section 7-7 of the Connecticut General Statutes.

Voting will take place at the following locations: in the Town of Lyme, at the Town Hall, 480 Hamburg Road, Lyme, Connecticut and in the Town of Old Lyme, at the Lyme-Old Lyme Middle School, 53 Lyme Street, Old Lyme, Connecticut.



 

Marilyn Warren will be present to moderate the meeting.
 

1. 1. Explain qualifications for voting:

* Elector in Lyme or Old Lyme
* Citizen - at least 18 years old plus property owner on grand list 10/1/2023 with assessed value of at least $1,000.00
 

1. 2. Explain that voting on 2024-2025 budget will take place the following day during hours of 12:00 p.m. - 8:00 p.m. In Old Lyme, at the Lyme-Old Lyme Middle School and in Lyme at the Lyme Town Hall.

 

1. 3. Open up meeting for discussion on budget and questions from public.

 

1. 4. After no further questions or comments, ask for a motion to adjourn  to referendum on the following day from 12:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m.
