III. Approval of Education Specifications and Resolutions
Speaker(s):
Ian Neviaser
Rationale:
The attached educational specifications and resolutions are both requirements for the submission of a grant to DAS (Department of Administrative Services), which manages all school construction grants.  This requires Board approval.
:
IV. Approval of Armed Security Guards
Speaker(s):
Ian Neviaser
Rationale:
As discussed at the last meeting, I am recommending we arm our security staff to address concerns over police response time to our schools.  I have forwarded you all correspondence I have received on this issue and will have the results of the Thought Exchange once it closes on Tuesday.  I will review those for the Board as well as the costs and policy considerations should this be approved.  This requires Board action.
:
V. Approval of Middle School Field Trip
Speaker(s):
Noah Ventola
Rationale:
The middle school is planning a trip to a number of national parks for next year over the April vacation.  The attached provides more information on these trips.  This requires Board action.

VI. Policy Review and Possible Action:
Use of School Facilities, Buildings and Grounds
Armed Security Officers

Speaker(s):
Ian Neviaser
Rationale:
The policy committee is recommending changes to a number of policies.  The specific details will not be available until meeting time as we are meeting the night before to discuss and review those changes. As both of these policies impact pressing issues, the recommendation is to waive the first read and adopt the policies as presented.
