Description:
This agenda item was initially board approved at the October 14, 2024 RCISD Regular Board Meeting. The agenda description in the October Agenda read:
RCISD administration recommends Verkada. Verkada is cloud based; meaning no servers on campus. It also has an innovative search engine that uses AI to help locate specific events or people when searching. The quality of the cameras is superior to Acti and Geovision. The Verkada quote is also for a 10 year license total plus service, making Verkada $28,826 per year. Funding will come out of the Cycle 2 Safety Grant Funds from the state. The reason it returns for additional board approval is that after walking the building and looking at the maps, we determined that there were some cameras that needed to be added. Attached is the new quote. It is about $10,000 more than the original. The original quote was approximately $282,000 dollars. We have the funds in our Safety and Security Cycle 2 grant to fund this endeavor. |
