1. Note to Public of Telephone Conferencing:  Pursuant to Governor Abbott’s Temporary Suspension of Open Meetings Laws issued on March 16, 2020 to advance the public health goal of limiting face-to-face meetings (also called “social distancing”), this meeting will be conducted via telephone conference, which will be audible to the Board and public. The Board President, presiding officer or trustees will not be physically present at one location but a quorum will be required for the telephone meeting. The public may access this meeting at the following link: http://www.misd.org/page/dis.remoteboardmeetings. A recording of the meeting will be available for viewing on the District’s website.

Any member of the public who wishes to address the Board on an agenda item during public comment must submit written comments to the following email box: comments@misd.org no later than 6:00 p.m. on April 21. The comments will be read to the Board during the public comments portion to the extent possible.

The Board will go into a closed meeting as authorized by the Texas Open Meetings Act, under the following Texas Government Code Sections: 551.074 to consider resignations, to deliberate appointment, employment, evaluation, reassignment, duties, discipline, or dismissal of a public officer or employee or to hear a complaint or charge against an officer or employee; to consider recommendations to renew, terminate or non-renew employee contracts; consider and discuss superintendent transition.
9. Return to open meeting and take any action deemed necessary upon discussion in the closed meeting; consider and take possible action on personnel; consider and take possible action regarding selection and hiring of superintendent search firm; consider and take possible action regarding superintendent transition.
